Just check if its in your drafts. Blogger has an autosave feature. So, till you publish a post, it keeps getting saved in your drafts. [ I think its the "Edit Posts" link ]
If you have found it [ though only remnants of it ] in your saved drafts, then its proof enough that you were editing it and had forgotten to publish it [ or re-publish it ].
There are lots of ways in which the post can disappear in this case.
One simple thing that i can think of could be .. just a chance mistake of using the mouse in a wrong way. May be you happened to block some part of your post with the mouse and it so happened that one of your keys on the keyboard got pressed, which meant that the blocked text got replaced with the key !!!
or probably, the net konked and so you get to see the post that had been saved last.
I would request others to think of more weird things that could have happened and post their thoughts :D

hehe...no raysh...u r not "that gone" as yet...but maybe the pic overshadowed the post...:).
